Bigger is not always better

I am so glad that we went “mini.” A few months ago my wife and I came to a major crossroads when our central heating and cooling system stopped functioning for us. It was always an inefficient, dirty, difficult furnace and AC system that we had in place, but over the years things really took a turn. We were calling a local heating and cooling repair shop seemingly weekly for emergency repair appointments, and our indoor air temperature still wasn’t reaching the settings we established on the thermostat for it. That’s when we decided – we were done with the large, centralized, HVAC life… it was time to break things down into more manageable pieces with mini split ductless heating and cooling systems. When choosing a new heating, cooling, and ventilation system we decided to get rid of the high energy bills each month. We were tired of all the huge repair and maintenance appointments. And most of all, we were tired of the airborne contaminants living inside of the ductwork, which was circulating through every air vent and creating allergies. Since there’s only two of us in the house, it makes no sense having one central temperature control system costing money to heat and cool empty rooms. We dismantled our central heating and cooling setup with the help of a trustworthy HVAC repair shop and haven’t looked back. Our mini split ductless heating and cooling systems in each room have provided ideal comfort, cleanliness, and adaptability that we could never attain with a dirty central HVAC system. We pity the fool who keeps living with huge heating and cooling drama.
