Went in to water plants; broke temperature control

Sporadically the best intentions have the worst outcomes. I know this from my own life as well as I’ve seen it far too many times. Recently, I felt that I was doing the right thing when I dropped by my friend’s home to make sure that his plants were doing okay. She as well as his bestie had gone out of town for a few days to say goodbye to his Mom. I wanted to make sure that everything was in tip-top shape back at his house. Unfortunately, I should have thought through all of the potential ways that I could create a disaster. Namely, by bothering to touch the temperature control I could completely ruin their central heating as well as cooling system. The concern started when I walked into the home as well as realized that the indoor air was hot as well as muggy. It seems like the central cooling system wasn’t doing its task. The indoor air was even hotter than outside as well as the air conditioning unit sounded completely silent. I started fiddling with the temperature control, trying to switch it over to the cooling function as well as engage the giant cooling system outside. Instead, the temperature control started bconnecting random lights at me as well as making weird sounds. After a moment or two, the temperature control screen went completely blank as well as I could not feel any fresh indoor air passing through the vents anymore. I have no idea how to service the current temperature control so I instantly called out a professional Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman for help. When the air quality control specialist arrived at the scene, he told me that the temperature control was broken… But more crucially the a/c had been fried. My buddy didn’t love my good intentions when I had to tell his that I broke their extravagant a/c.
